About me…
Massage Therapist. Runner. Writer. Artist. Mom. Anatomy geek. Order randomized daily.
My love for massage began with my love for running, which followed my initial hate for running. While studying textile design at Savannah College of Art and Design, I made a decision to change how I looked and felt. I started running, began cooking like an adult, and lost over 90 pounds. After many races, I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2012. It felt amazing to take control of my life and my health and I knew I wanted to share that feeling with others.
My passion for understanding the human body continues to push me to deepen and refine my knowledge and techniques. After graduating from The Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 2009 and mentoring with Bob King, I pursued additional certification in Myofascial release, pre and post natal massage, and Zen Shiatsu. As I continue to learn, I’m excited to add MAT Jumpstart to my services.
I found my heart and voice in massage and love the community of health, wellness, and fitness entrepreneurs in Chicago. Being a part of a Chicago’s health and fitness community has taught me much about the human body. In caring for myself, I’ve received treatment from numerous trainers, chiropractors, acupuncturists, MAT Specialists, and estheticians. I’ve collaborated with and received work from some of the best, brightest, and most genuinely caring providers around. My resources are one of my hidden tools as a massage Therapist. When I recommend you see someone, it is someone I’ve already trusted my body and health with.
When I’m not practicing or studying, you can find me exploring nature, cuddling my dog, or chasing my toddler. I love to run or hike and some of my favorite trails are the Appalachian trail GA, Black Hills SD, Great Keppel Is NSW, Savannah GA, and Red Rocks NV. If you follow me on social media you will see a blend of textile art, writing, and of course an eyes behind the hands perspective on massage, fitness, and self care in Chicago.
